Remembering Upper Darby High School Memorial Page for:

Ken Quinn - Class of 1965

Created by: Louise Quinn
Memorial Message:
Kenny graduated from UD in 1965. He played football for the Royals all three years and was named to the ALL DELCO Team all three years. He was also named to the Penna. BIG 33 Team in his senior year along with ALL STATE (Hon. Mention). He loved football. And he definitely loved Upper Darby High School. He lived in California most of his adult life and was extremely tickled when he'd meet people out there who hailed from Upper Darby. He played football for Temple Univiversity for a couple of years but eventually ended up in the Air Force. After his time in the Service, he graduated college in California and married and settled there, in Camarillo, working for the Department of the Navy. Kenny married a California girl and had three children. He died ten years ago. His death was quite sudden and very sad. He had routine abdominal surgery and on the day he was to go home from the hospital, a blood clot broke loose from the surgical site and killed him instantly. Kenny was only 51 and left his lovely wife and three children, ages 13, 11 and 9. We were all devasted, and over these past ten years, we have missed him terribly. If you knew Ken and remember him, I would love to hear from you or any of his old friends. I can be reached at shh515@aol.com. Sincerely, Louise Quinn Harris (Ken's sister)

I well remember Ken. I recall and admired both his exceptional physical ability and outstanding personality. Ken was very popular but also had a rare humility which made him someone impossible to forget. He was an outstanding athlete, good looking, but more importantly a great person. That I only encountered him a few times through a mutual friend, Bill Mullin, speaks well for the impression Ken made on myself and so many others. I last saw him in '64, but I'll never forget this rare, remarkable person. Jerry Simotas UD Class Of '64
